  • Due to religious issues, at Meteora, modest attire is required for everyone in order to enter the grounds of a monastery. Sleeveless clothing and above-the-knee shorts for men are not allowed and you will be denied entry if you are dressed in this manner. Women are required to have their arms and legs covered (trousers not allowed) when entering the monasteries. We suggest that you wear a scarf or a light shirt as well as long skirt while entering the monasteries. Skirts and shawls are available for women to borrow or purchase at the entrance to the monasteries in case they do not have such clothing to cover themselves.
